The IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit) course is designed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge for responding to life-threatening emergencies.
The course focuses on several critical areas, starting with Personal Safety and Scene Size-up, where participants learn to assess the environment to ensure their safety and the safety of others before administering aid. The course then delves into Patient Assessment, enabling participants to quickly evaluate the condition of an injured person. Triage is also a key component, teaching the prioritization of care based on the severity of injuries.
In the Bleeding Control section, participants gain hands-on experience with essential techniques such as Direct Pressure, Basic Bandaging, the application of Emergency Trauma Dressings, Haemostatic Dressings, and the proper use of a Tourniquet to stop severe bleeding.
Finally, the course covers Shock Management, ensuring that participants can recognize and manage shock, a critical condition that often accompanies severe injuries. Together, these components provide a comprehensive foundation for effective emergency response.
